Why is there such a terrible smell in my nose in the morning??
Question: I had a car accident last year.My 2 young daughters were in the back when a crazy driver hit and ran us off the freeway and we landed in the median upside down. When I felt the car rolling I said goodbye to my kids (in my heart). We were amazingly hardly hurt (thankyou seatbelts, carseats and winter coats)
So my husband quit smoking! That is when the bad smell came.I thought it was some kind of detoxifying that my husband was going through at first and so I tried not to mention it (there are a few reasons to quit smoking and there are always a million reasons to start again) Sometimes it was so overpowering that I had to dash to the window to breathe. Then for one (or several) of those million reasons, he started smoking again but the smell continues. It is not my teeth: I saw the dentist several times since the accident. It is not the bed or anything in the room: my children with sensitive noses can't smell it, nor can my husband.
My doctor has not heard of trauma affecting one this way
Answers: I have never told anyone this....My husbamd told me I had bad nose-breath a couple of years ago, after going to the dentist and asking my family Doctor about this embarressing problem, I went to the ear, nose and throat Doctor ( ENT Specialist) . He said I had bad allergies and my sinus cavity was very narrow and my sinuses could not empty properly. I had surgery and he opened up my passages and it has been WONDERFUL!!! I take Allegra now, and I have no problems with nose-breath anymore!!! It wasnt my mouth, it was mucous in my sinuses! I know that soungs gross, but I am telling you...IT WORKED!!! Surgery seems like a drastic measure, but it worked TRULY!!! Go to an ENT!! Let them check it out!! Good LUCK TO YA !! I understand your dilemma!
it could just be from the use of not cleaning of ur nose during the night... its normal
You could have a sinus infection.
halitosis
or,...
stinky pillow syndrome
I agree with....whoever. You may just need to clean out your nose .
I had a fever do something similar to that this winter. Terrible smell everwhere I went, so I really believe nerves can get twangled to make phantom scents. I've heard of it before too, not just me.
Maybe its your upper lip or just real realy bad morning breath.
i would think that there is something with your mucous membranes in your nasal passage. how is your taste-er. is your taste buds out of whack.
They clean your nose in hospitals, i heard you smell way better. So maybe it's not clean.
I think you have a sinis infection. You need to see an ears nose and throat specialist ASAP. You could have bumped your nose during the accident and caused damage or a blockage which is now building up hence the smell.
