Just wondering what the general public think about the government banning essential oils>??
Question: The EU and the US are bringing into effect a ban on the use of over 60 different natural essential oils, including lavender and rose. Why? Well these oils are made up of natural chemical compounds, some of which, when isolated and used in high concentration, can cause skin irritation. But lavender oil can be used on the skin with no adverse reactions and is effective in the treatment of burns and other skin conditions. It is when they separate the single natural chemical in the oil (this can only be done in a laboratory) and use it alone on the skin (probably rats) that they cause problems. So the answer they have found is to ban the use of these oils. It will severly effect the natural cosmetics and perfumery business.
What do you guys think?

Answers: This is a person trying to get hits on her website. Banning essential oil? K, and are they going to ban olive oil, coffee, tea? Pledge with orange? Witch hazel - get it? Everything comes from something..........
I've said it before and i'll say it again ... the government is retarded.
sounds like the drug companies don't like the competition.
I think they don't understand the meaning of essential !
AACK! When is this supposed to happen!? I use lavendar oil all the time. It's a great treatment for animal bites. It fights infection, reduces pain and helps stop bleeding.
People, please become aware that choices are being made for us and not with our personal best interests.
Lavander helps calm. I use it all the time to help get sleep, instead of a tylonal pm; or sooth stress from serious hardship, instead of valium. I also use diluted lavander in my laundry rinse cycle my daughter has skin irritations. I am mad, I don't want my life before lavander. And I use many others.
I think that is a violation, a way to control peoples minds and moneys. Essential oils, like other alternative medicine, has a place and way to help the public more than harm. And those studies are so misleading, who buys essential oils to take them home to a lab to seperate it, why again, why not use the whole oil anyways. My daughter cannot use some laundry soaps, can I ban those even though many people have no proplem?
What happened to allerting the public, if they are going to ban everything that isn't good for everybody, what next? Manufacturers have the responsability of being truthful and upright, if they know of possible irritations, list them. People have the responsability of what they do to their own bodies.
It is a personal decision on what method of treatment we chose based on our case and the possible side effects.
How fustrating industry sabatoges our efforts for whole natural and benificial products, and strangers can make the decision of what I can and cannot do based on personal gain under pretenses of saving people from side effects , most are so low compared to the still legal options.
It seams like a control on consumer mainstream in general. More and more people look for ways to help themselves and suffer least harmfull side effects. Some people may not get the same benifit I do from lavander, they have a choice to try tylonal pm or perscription, now I don't have a choice.
I can think of plenty of ways consumers are controlled and misguided for a multitude of corrupt reasons. And circumstances that have started as a ban and then had to be modified. WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMEN!
Our personal choice on science vs nature is always at stake, for most people it will be gone before they know what is out there. My personal choice is for science and nature. But my choice is being made along with the many uneducated people who are being robbed of liberties without even realizing the consequences.
I find that companies make the mistake of shorting products they offer to make a higher profit and offer a lower cost. There are scams in everything. And consumers make the mistake of looking first at the price and not what they are getting, or HOW to use it. People do not have the time to learn about every little thing. That is what experts are for. Instead of banning naturals and continuing man made, they should combine the efforts. People have a right to use the best aid for their circumstances, and people are different. Just because one person can't have cats, doesn't mean we should kill them all.
The government and drug companies dont want us to use anything natural...they want everyone to be doped up with their drugs....what a shame....What gets me is to know all the crap they put in our food and say its not harmful for us....its all a scam....If they take away the essentials oils then it will go underground and be bought else where.....
If this is true then how about a website other then Your website with the info for the banning of essential oils??
