I am taking antibiotics for an abcessed tooth. When I feel my jaw bone...??
Question: I'm taking antibiotics for an abcessed tooth....when I feel my jaw bone, there's a bump there and it hurts to touch it. Do u think it could be swollen glands because of the infection?? I've also got braces....have had them for 3 years now. I'm VERYYYY scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answers: it IS the infection..a pocket of abcess..the antibiotics will take care of it within 24-48 hours..till then, avoid touching it...you'll be OK
underneath your jaw bone there are a series of glads...and often times they will swell because of infection, allergies, problems with your tooth and sometimes more serious illnesses..if it is swollen and your on antibiotics, it's probably just because your body is starting to fight the infection..it 98% of the time absolutely nothing to worry about. if it continues for a month of more, then i would worry and get myself to the doctor.
