How to heal a sore in the mouth, when braces keep irritating it??

Question: My duaghter recently got braces. just before she had them put on, she bit the inside of her mouth and got one of those sores that takes a few weeks to go away, until the area heals.

She has been putting the wax on the braces over the spot, but it is not helping and the sore is getting bigger.

What can we do to help the swelling and stop the sore from getting bigger? Is there any way to get rid of this sore, when the braces will keep moving against it?
Answers: Try something like Anbesol to help numb it.
Try using hydrogen peroxide as a mouth rinse. Mix it half and half with water.
Hi, i know what your daughter is expirencing! I just recently got my braces off and had lots of sores.
I recommend if anything is sticking out or poking at the side of her mouth, then you need to schedule an appointment with the orthodonist. Other than that, she has to get used to having these metal things rubbing against her mouth. It just takes a while to get better.
Hope she feels better!
It's and old country remendy my Surgeon told me about when he had cancer sores his mon told him put baking soda on them. I have found this really works.
Pain can be treated with several pain-relieving gels, such as Anbesol, Bonjela, Campho-Phenique, Orabase B, Zilactin, or Kanka, available in drugstores.
Put on orabase. It nums the sore area. That recently happened to me! It hurts! Or some other numming medicine works too. If it gets to swollen consult her dentist, orthodontist or doctor. Good luck.
