Is it weird to still have baby teeth when I'm 15??
Question: I'm 15 and I still have a baby tooth. Its loose, and there's a second one already coming, so it'll come out soon, which is really embarrasing, having a gap in my mouth that people can see when I smile. But shouldn't I have already lost my baby teeth? Also, about how long will it take for my new tooth to grow since it is already out a little bit?
Answers: Usually all baby teeth are exfoliated and replaced by about 12 years of age but there could be something different in your case.. your permanent tooth just took a little longer.. maybe it had trouble coming down.. the delayed emergence is nothing to worry about as long as your spacing was not interfered with ( which your baby tooth was holding the space so it probably didn't get effected ) Don't worry about it and just watch it.. It shouldn't take long to grow in if it has already broke through your gingiva.
I'm quite a few years older than you and I still have a couple, it's unusual but there are a couple I don't have permanent replacements for, fortunately you do. The permanent ones usually knock the others out of the way, but you might have had a stronger one or two teeth than usual.
This is unusual - but if it is loose and you can see the permanent one, it sounds like you have nothing to worry about.
I lost my last baby tooth when I was 16.
