Can a NHS patient change there dentist when they want too??

Question: when not satisfied with the dentist they have
Answers: Of course you can change your dentist anytime,
but the trouble is that not many do NHS work now
Yes...........if another Dentist will take you on board.
Yes same as you can your Doctor but NHS dentist are hard to find. Check the Internet for some in your area also look in the local paper as sometimes it says they are willing to take on NHS .
yes, but good luck trying to find one.
Yes, from 1st April 06 Nhs dental registration was abolished so there is no registration anymore, in theory you should be able to walk into ANY dentist offering nhs treatment and depending on the appointments available be seen.
Sadly many surgeries are still working under the old system,
I'm sorry your not a registered patient so we are not obliged to see you, try the surgery in the high street , this however is not the case, if a surgery is advertising it's self as an nhs surgery and claims to be taking on nhs patients, if they have the availability they have to see you.
If in doubt contact your local Primary care trust who will be able to explain patients rights under the new nhs dental contract.
