When you get bitten by a hornet why does the body swell up? What should i do??

Answers: Put some ice on it. If you were allergic you would know by now.
First of all, you get stung not bitten. Secondly, do you mean the body swells up or just the little spot? If anywhere other than the spot is swelling, you are allergic and need to get some benadryl. If your tongue is swelling you need to call 911. Otherwise, put some ice on it. It swells up because it is your immune system responding to the poison in the stinger.
Some people are allergic and can be serious you should see a doctor
us should take some benadral and go to the er before the reaction get worse
natural histamines from the serum that the hornet injects under your superficial epidermal membrane (skin) via his stinger cause this rxn. you should get some meat tenderizer, moisten the lesion slightly with a warm, damp, CLEAN rag (4x4 gauze sponge would be best), then apply meat tenderizer to each lesion. meat tenderizer must contain msg for best results. also take some benedryl for ANY allergic rxn!!!
