Effects of heavy metal music on teenager's negative behavior??

Question: Hi I am trying to look for some websites or research that can inform me about what are the effects of heavy metal or hard rock music on teenager's negative behavior. I appreciate your help.
Answers: I have to say that teenagers tend to have issues during these formative years regardless of the music that they listen to. To demonize heavy metal and say that it is responsible for anyone's negative behavior is absurd. People look to blame anything other than themselves and are unwilling to accept facts that are hard for them to face when trying to figure out what is wrong with their children. It defies logic to say that metal causes problems for teenagers. Poor parenting, the pressures one faces at that age, and the amount one's body and brain chemistry are changing, among a multitude of other things, tend to affect teenagers' behavior far more than the music they choose to listen to. Seriously, look deeper. People need to accept responsibility for their own actions and be willing to face some things that are difficult to face when deciphering what is wrong with teenagers in America or anywhere else, not look for a scapegoat in music.

Also, the metalheads I've know have been some of the more well-adjusted people I've encountered. When I really think about it, as a whole they are some of the happier and more functional individuals in my life.

Sorry I can't provide any websites for you, I just had to say my part here. Metal doesn't make people do any stupid or dangerous things that they would not have done otherwise.
My friend listens to metal. He's so depressed he thinks the Devil is inside of him. He's done drugs galore. He thinks that metal is going to save him. Save him from what?
Heavy metal music tends to be filled with hatred, anger, prejudice, racism. I see no good coming out of this music.
Go to a library or better yet a college with a good catalog. There has to be research done on this topic.

What exactly are you trying to find out? Whether listening to metal/rock makes a person more prone to negative behavior or it does not matter what they listen to, they just have crappy parents and no discipline~~ :)
teenagers are more prone to see and do what they hear or see in music and music videos because they are at a point in their lives where conformity and finding themselves is a major pressure.they want to fit in somewhere negative or positive.at this time in their lives it is so important for their family especially their parents to be there and support them and guide them to the positive side and keep them away from harmful behaviors so they will grow up to be healthy functioning adults.
I don't think its the music that makes you think your posessed.it's what you want yourself to think.I personally listen to heavy metal, classic rock, and others but that does not mean that i'm goin to be emo. Right........yeah i think so.
