My friend has a LOT of acne...??
Question: i feel bad for him
what are some stuff he could use?
(and yes he takes showers like...hm.. every other day?)
Answers: Okay, so myself, I'm sortof in the same spot as your friend. I've had horrible acne that would just never go away. I went and saw a dermotologist and even some of the prescription drugs wouldn't work well. Finally, I tried this drug called accutane. It was incredible!!! It got rid of all my acne and started healing the damage from old acne as well as making my face feel really smooth. However, I had to stop it after a month or so. it's an awsome drug but it's closely monitored by the FDA because the side effects can be really dangerous in a couple of situations like it can worsen depression or create severe birth defects as well as rasing high cholstoral levels. So, for now until I can get back on it, (My cholestoral shot up too high) I'm taking proactiv. It actually works pretty well but I doubt that it will eventually cure all of my acne. Accutane can actually cure acne on a dose taken for about a year and will actually prevent acne almost for life. I'd say, try proactiv, and go see a dermotologist or a doctor and ask if you would be a good candidate for accutane....
Proactive. They have this mask that works great!
duct tape
use a product from a chemist or supermarket such as clearasil OR visit your doctor.
He needs to go to the doctor and get a prescription
thats basically the only thing that really works.
gd luck to him and be supportive ! :)
My daughter and many of her friends had great luck with Proactive. I hate to plug a company, but it has worked great!
he should be washing his face every single day. He can also visit a dermatologist, or buy proactiv
If he doesn't have the money for that, he can buy lots of acne-fighters at the local grocery store.
ok u shouldnt be complaining about ur friend...u should like a bad friend right now thats all im saying. my suggestion is either use proactive or clearisil
wash his face twice a day. use pro active. less sugar, does he drink or smoke? if so cut back on those. oh and drink tons of water!
I know this sounds so cliche, but I used ProActive and its amazing. I didn't have A LOT of acne, but just the occasional break outs, but it has stopped them completley. And some advice, if he does use it, order it off the commercial because it is the same size the sell in the mall and other places for half the price. Good luck!
Haha, your avatar's facial expression looks as if it is staring your freind right in his bumpy face.
it has nothing to do with higiene , its his hormones that are making his skin cells go crazy, proactive solution really works, you can ge it at the mall or cheaper on ebay, give oit as a gift, you'll be buddies for life.
First of all, shower EVERY day.
And try some St. Ives Facial Scrub.
It works like whoooaa...
It if it just happens to NOT work, then I've heard ProActiv is pretty rad...
=)
dunno but i have a friend with alot of acne so im as anxious as you to figure out the answer....
proacive maybe??
If he has a lot, he should go to a dermatologist or regular doctor. They can prescribe antibiotics or Accutane which is what is usually needed to get rid of serious acne. That over the counter stuff won't work - don't believe the marketing hype.
Mean while he gets on treatment, tell him to wash his face with Sugar and soap.. Mix the sugar with the soap and rub your skin with it... its a natural remedy for acne
dont you mean YOU ,
he should use murad, this stuff called zapzit, and acne masks. I used to have horrible acne and tried many things, but none worked. Then i started washing with murad, putting acne masks and facial drying things on, and put zapzit on at night, and my skin is perrty now!!!!!!!
all Biore products are great, but if u want fast results (8hrs or less) try Neutrogena Rapid Clear
some people just have naturlly oil skin or food allergies and it shows up on his face. Most people who get acne are always washing their face because of it, so I know its not a hygene things. As far as commercial products, proactive, clearsel and clean and clear are your best options. Putting soap on your face when washing it isnt good, tell him to wash his face once in the morning and once at night with hot water to start to open and clean the pores and then with a cold wet cloth wipe his face to close his pores again preventing more dirt form getting in. Its also good to carry around a hankerchief or small cloth so if you get dirty or sweaty you can wipe your face anywhere. Good luck!
wash his face b4 bed-tell him there is a bright side-he can practice finding constellations on his face
honestly...no bs, i tried everything there was, and nothing really worked for me! One day it just went away...it's just a part of growing up. It also depends on your skin type...I have oily skin and nothing could control it...in the meantime just keep the oil to a minimun. Try exfoliating and noxema pads. Maybe that proactive stuff or whatever it's called. Different things work for different people. Experiment!
idk but tell him he should make an appointment to a dermatologist ...they will give you top knotch kinda stuff just for you....but if he cant then go to wal-mart and buy some stuff .
i have extremely bad eczema so i have used tons of stuff...but i have heard of those face wash wipe things...not sure if they work but sometimes if it has alcohol in it or any find of perfume ...u kno like if its scented than it could make it worse so tell him to use something thick in a jar cuz some of that cream in the despencers or tubes are to light ...or he can just grab like ten of a shelf and buy them and see which works the best !!!
there was a drug called accutane, i don't know if the fda pulled it or not, the drug made your body stop producing the oil in your skin, basicaly it made your skin dry out, hence less acne. thats why people can go to colorado on vacation and their acne clears up cause of the dry weather and no humidity.
dry-lo [i use this & it cleared my skin] ..if he wants to try it he can order it on hsn.com
Go to a store and buy apricot scrub
he has to take a shower every day and you it every day
(your face has to be wet)
tell him NOT to touch his face or pick at it try proactive it doesnt work for everyone so if it doesnt work for him tell him to go see a doc
Thumbs up for asking this question. Some suggestions:
1. Shower twice a day or more if possible. Wash face with soap. Topical antibacterials help in treating severe acne. Some antibacterial soap gets rid of the skin's normal flora and paves way for other infection. Some antibacterial soap may worsen acne. Funny, but sapoderm seems to help with me. He may try different antibacterial soaps and avoid those that make it worse.
2. Avoid touching or bursting that acne. It only helps spread it.
3. Check his diet. Some oily tinned foods and high fatty foods can be avoided. Refined foods high in sugar and salt are best avoided. Fruits and veges high in vitamin A eg, carrots, pawpaws and mangoes may help.
4. Stress makes it worse. Get relief.
5. High temperatures worsen acne. Keep face cool and moist.
6. Regular shaving may help.
7. According to myths, masturbation worsens acne. More sex with partner may help reduce it
8. Wait, as he grows older, his testosterone levels fall and the acne often disappears too, though may take longer.
9. Consult a doctor if not sure.
First he should shower daily. Second, he needs to wash his face frequently during the day. Use witch hazel if proactive is not available or not affordable, it works well to help heal and prevent acne. Walgreens has a device for about $150 that actually zaps the deep acne that make whelps. Good luck. Hormonal changes cause it, so it is just a plague of many teens.
roaccutane
The strongest acne drug out there, he will need to get the script from the skin specialist though.
Makes you very dry, and it is very effective.
