Question: can terrets show up later in life about 5 months ago i had a tingling in my brain i went to the doctors they did a ekg on my heart and a cat scan couldnt find anything wrong but my head has been twitching and my neck i can stop moving my head back and forth and im really grinding my teeth and my legs wont stop moving like im anxious i cant controll it i told the doctors and they just blow me off becuase they cant find anything wrong anyone have any ideas?
Answers: It sounds like it's some sort of a neuro issue. If you are experiencing such physical symptoms as the ones you are describing, and the doctors blow you off, then you have bad doctors and you should change. But you def need to see a neurologist. Someone should probably do an EEG to measure your brain activity.
I would definitely find another doctor, there is something going on. If they are not willing to figure out what it is, then you need to find a doctor that will.....Good Luck!!!!!
hypocondriac?
I had the same case, symptoms and everything. I don't know for sure what it was, but if I had to guess I would say it was the advil pm that I would take every single night to sleep. About a week after, all of my symptoms were gone. Good luck, but if you honestly feel as if something is really wrong, do not hesitate to go to another hospital !
Change doctors.
Maybe even see a neurologist, it isn't something I would just trust to this forum.
I do not if terrets can come later in life. But i do know that Hunington's starts like that. Keep going to the doctors and demand more tests because huningtons is not a very known illness, and progresses fast. Its better to be safe then sorry. I hope everything turns out okay =) good luck.
tourette's can show up anytime, but it almost sounds like parkinson disease. I am not a doctor and cant diagnose but, if its constant why didnt the doctor see the signs while you were in the office, have you started on new medications that this could be a possible side effect? get a second opinion if your primary physician wont hear you and follow up, dont be satisfied with your current answer of not being able to find anything wrong
It sounds like you have ticks and you could have restless leg syndrome in your legs. There should be some medication you can take.
One thing i can say is that's definately not Tourette Syndrome. I grew up with one of my brothers having Tourette Syndrome. It starts in childhood. What you have is way different from tourettes. My brother had a very hard childhood from it.
It could be something as simple as nervous tension. Ask yourself if you've been subjected to a very stressful event lately. Perhaps your diet has changed recently or you're consuming too much caffeine; the food we take in can have a major effect on our physical and mental health.

Hopefully, you haven't grown too frustrated with the doctors. Usually it takes a lot of visits to find a patient doc who actually wants to pinpoint the underlying cause of the mysterious symptoms you describe. Try to get one of them to refer you to a specialist who treats Tourette's patients.

I knew a guy who had Tourette's syndrome. He was the father of one of my friends. He would repeat random undecipherable sounds occasionally. It didn't really affect his life a lot.
Your just horney. Get a stud boy friend.
Are you currently taking any psychotropic medications? Some of the symptoms that you describe sound like extra-pyramidal side effects such as akathesia. If not, then I suggest you see a specialist (neurologist)
