Thoughts are killing me...??
Question: When im sleeping at night, all of a sudden I can't think of a single thing without whatever i'm trying to think of expanding or decreasing in size instantly as I think of anything. This happens maybe 2-3 times a week at most and it literally drives me nuts because I tend to do my deepest thinking while laying down to sleep.
IS this is anything serious and what is going on with my mind since i can't think of anything wrong. :(
Answers: i do the exact same thing when i lay down to sleep..sometimes it will take me an hour to actually fall asleep because my mind is so restless. if you have serious problems sleeping i would ask the doctor for something like a sleep aid. i bought this one lotion at bath and body works its called sleep it has an incredibly relaxing scent- lavender and vanilla which helps soothe and then i try taking deep breaths and concentrate on my breathing.
You need to really prioritize your thoughts and name what you're feeling. Try medidtation and yoga it'll be beneficial both to your physical and mental health. Also make a list of what you want from life and love it.
That happens soooooooo often! it's just that when you keep doing something and you put your thoughts off, they come back at night so try to read or do a calm activity before you go to sleep so you have time to yourself and to just get in the bedtime ritual so you don't keep yourself up all night thinking!
Sounds like classic schizophrenia to me, but dont worry about it.
There's nothing wrong with you. In my house we call it the brain whirl . My son gets them occasionally. A thought gets in there and takes off spiraling into insanity.
If you are able to break the pattern by getting up and walking around a bit, or having a drink of water, watching tv for a bit, etc., it can help.
Sometimes you have to write it down, there by getting it out of your head.
Exercising during the day helps as well.
Good luck!
From what you desripe I thnk you have a serious case of intellegence. I'm afraid there's no known cure, you'll have to live with it.
It can be hard, being able to think for yourself when everyone around you let others think for them. it will disturb you sometimes and make life difficult (like when you realize everyone else is wrong but they won't listen.) The only thing I can suggest is a support group of other smart people.
I do find though that keeping a brainteaser book beside the bed helps. I can work on puzzles till my mind refuses to think any more. Writing bad poetry before going to sleep also seems to help.
Practise one of the relaxation methods at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2, in bed, after lights out.
slow down and stop eating so many spicey foods
