Do you suffer from anxiety??
Question: What weird things do your anxiety problem make you do?
for example:
I adjust my a/c thermometer about 50 times a day
Answers: Yeah, sounds like OCD, don't stress though as you have to have a hobby!
Me? I am a Carpenter and Joiner by trade. I get a new task to do and until it is over I go through it visually in my mind from start to finish many times. I consider myself a bit of a pedantic prick, an old fashioned perfectionist so although to someone else this seems wacky to me it is just full-on quality. I know it is outlandish, unnecessary behaviour however so that is why I said, You have to have a hobby! :-)
i have social anxiety so i basically avoid people when i can
I have to put underwear, pants, and shoes on the left first, otherwise I have to take them off and do it all over again. I also freak out about every little thing. If I get a little headache or indigestion or something I don't think oh it'll pass, I physically make my self more sick by constantly stressing over it thinking that I have cancer (not knocking anybody who has cancer, it's just what I consider my biggest fear). It't not fun at all.
Sounds more like OCD than anxiety! unless you are agjusting the thermostat b/c you are getting really hot or cold!
Visit webmd.com and search anxiety disorders they have great info! Also search OCD!
It does sound like OCD. I check my alarm to make sure its set right many many times before i can sleep
You may well be suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder instead of, or in addition to anxiety, so see those subjects at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on pages 6, and 7. Consult a doctor, and ask for a referral.
if i ate a meal i just prepared and it comes to mind i paranoid for hours after ive eaten it beccause i become certain that i will get food poisoning from it and puke:P just too name one:P
Yes I do too. I worry about my health all the time! If I have a bad headache, my first thought is a brain tumor! If I feel sick in the stomach, I think it's cancer. Never used to have this problem, but I went through Post Natal Depression last year and have now developed this anxiety. I see a councilor and that helps me a lot. Sounds like you might have OCD instead of anxiety though. I'm no expert though, you may need to see your GP if it's bothering you.
i check things like something in my backpack then recheck again same with doors...that might be ocd but i also bite my fingernails excessivly to try and make them perfectly semicircular
It makes me not go on windy roads if i dont have to and it makes me not eat foods if i dont think they are cooked even though they are
Yes, mine is generalized but I have a few phobias. I just have a general feeling of nervousness all day. I totally flip out over doctors or dentists. I feel like I'm going to be executed when I go there. They always give me tranquilizers before making the trip there. I'm currently on Lexapro and Xanax to help with my problems. I would really like to be normal again. I'm starting with a psychiatrist soon, so that should help even more.
I have sweaty palms. I feel very nervous and Jittery. I was put on Zoloft and it has helped a great deal. Also, helps with my depression.
