What do you think??
Question: I don’t intend this to be a joke. I know I’m not schizophrenic or anything of the sort but lately, I’ve been hearing all sorts of things in my head! I sometimes hear bits of muffled conversation like it’s coming from outside my window or somewhere else in the house but there’s no one there!! (And no, the place isn’t haunted) Then, other times, like when I’m just about to fall asleep, I hear a loud voice or a door slam and it sounds like it’s right next to my ear. And I know it isn’t my sister playing a practical joke on me. After all, it happens around 12.30am or 1.00 in the morning!!
I know I’m imagining all these things. But why?
Answers: These may be hypnagogic hallucinations, usually brought on by lack of sleep, sometimes by other disturbances in the brain.
If you're getting eight hours of sleep a night, you might want to talk to a doctor about them.
Hypnogogic hallucinations can occur in people who are not mentally ill. They are neurological in origin--based in the brain.
you might be paranoid about it.....the imagination is very strong.....just leabve it alone for a couple of weeks..if it still happens see a psych. it can become worse if left un-treated.
Are you under a lot of stress right now? It could have a lot to do with what you're experiencing.
How do you know you are not schizophrenic? Have you been seen and evaluated by a psychiatrist?
maybe u are imagining things and its all in ur head, better go see a psyche
well if it happens when you just about to fall asleep, it is likely a dream state that is causing your auditory hallucinations. As for when it happens at other times.....I don't know, have you seen a psychiatrist about schizophrenia? has a professional told you there is no possibility of this? If not, I think you should check into it.
Maybe you are just freaking yourself out to the point where you trick yourself into continuously hearing this stuff...
idk... just a guess.

I would go see my doctor! Inner ear problems and tinnitis can cause sounds which you may mistake as voices etc so I would see a doctor and get checked out. If physically you are ok then maybe see a phychiatrist and discuss it
If you're taking medication, even just otc, that could affect it. It happened to me when I took Pamprin- I would hear things very clearly, (like talking, windows/doors opening, and even my dog barking). It only happened at night. I stopped taking it, and the noises stopped.
It's just your mind playing tricks on you. I have an active imagination and I know once I would have sworn that there were people in my house (it was morning and I had already woken, but was trying to catch some more sleep, so I was half awake and dreaming), but I was home alone. It scared me so much that now when I wake up, I get up! I also have to fall asleep with the TV on. I used to hear scratches inside my pillow, like something trying to get out. There was nothing there, but the more frightened I became, the more I could hear them. The noise of the TV keeps my mind from racing and any noises I might hear get drowned out.
It may be because you are ready to fall asleep. Your mind starts to drift into dream mode and sometimes it blurs the lines between reality and wherever your mind is when your falling asleep..so it may seem real at times. It happens to me too.
