Question: I can't seem to get out of this feeling of worthlessness.I've been trying to think what i can do for a job since I'm almost of age to start working and start a life of my own.But I think and I get depressed because I dunno where to turn.I know a few things I want to become but all of them seem like they'd be oputta reach.
I had looked into cooking colleges but I wouldn't be able to afford them in a thousand years.
I had also wanted to become a writer but as you can prolly see I lack the grammer skills.I know theres ppl that do spell checks and junk like that but I can't even think of a good story idea.
I just feel like I'll never amount to anything.I've been told what I should do for a job career but I can't see it in my future.
plz if anyone can help me find out a way to become less depressed and a way to stop my never ending quest for some kinda job plz help
thnx sorry for wasting you time
Answers: See a doctor for depression help, or try to find a job that interests you... maybe become an intern for a newspaper (if you are into writing).
I know this feeling better then you could imagine.

I think the secret is to believe in yourself (no matter how banal this sounds).
And not taking everything so seriously. As long as you feel comfortable with yourself and your life, you can (and should) try different things.

Don't let it get you down.
why would you say sorry for wasting our time??? it sounds like the 1st thing you need to do, is get some confidence. If you lack that, then you are going to be lacking in many other areas. If college is an option for you, try talking to a counselor at a school you're interested in, and they can go over some different courses and help you find something you might enjoy. If its not an option, then find a job that you think you would enjoy doing (doesn't have to be high-paying or the BEST job in the world!) but if you enjoy it, thats all that matters. There's always room for advancement.
you can go to school...there are a billion scholorship opertunities, and there is always student loans. Just sit down and think about what you really enjoy doing, and what you wont mind doing everyday for probably the rest of your life. And look on the bright side of things, there are so many things you can do with your life, and if you dont like something you can always change your mind.
You're not wasting anyone's time...only your own if you don't begin somewhere, anywhere! To begin with, take a job, any job, and do your very best at it. That alone will begin to boost your self-esteem. Join a club with people your age in some activity or hobby you're interested in...or even if it's not all people your age. Make some new friends and give yourself an opportunity to network; that might turn up more opportunities. Go to church (if you feel inclined) to meet people. It sounds like you not only need some employment/education direction, but that you also need some new people in your life. Look into scholarships, grants, and student loans for college...volunteer...ask friends/family for ideas. But I think the most important thing is for you to just start out somewhere. Goethe said it best: Whatever you can do, Or dream you can do, Begin it -- Begin it now.

Good luck!!
You are not wasting anyone's time except your own. You should be out looking at different options as opposed to be depressed about what you do not like, or do not want to do. There are plenty of opportunities out there, but you have to find them Life is not easy, and not everyone can be a millionaire so... find what you like try it. If it does not work out do something out. Life is all about choices. Do not give up.
I kind of feel the same way. I am really not sure what i want to do with my life. If you do decide to take out a loan for college defenitely go for nursing. I know it seems like you cannot afford the costs, but if you work in a city as a nurse you will be able to pay it back in no time. New york city nurses make 80 to 100 grand a year. I am going to be a senior next year and yeah it is pretty tough trying to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life. Every job seems like it would be really boring or even if you do like something its way to hard and im not smart enough. Just take it one step at a time and google something like jobs and plenty of different jobs will show up that maybe you will be interested in pursuing.

that is just one website i found

good luck and if i come up with any more info i will tell you
OK who cares if you dont get your dream job right now just save up money to go to one of those cooking schools and get into the restaurants industry not chili's (no offense) but like one of those high end restaurant's. You'll meet tons of people and they can give you references in the future if they like you and tip you good.
If you get a starter job of any sort (food service, oil changing, whatever), you can support yourself while you explore other opportunities.

I heard somewhere that the average adult changes careers something like 7 times in their life. Shoot, the average college student is said to change majors 3+ times.

So not having the answer right now is more normal than not. In fact, if you DID have it all figured out - that would kill the adventure of trying new things.

There are tons of community colleges, tech schools, and other programs out there - that aren't as expensive as the fancy schools. Most of them you can go to part time and fit it around your work schedule/life. Plus, just in meeting new people - you'll get new ideas.

Just take one step at a time and don't let yourself get overwhelmed by the size of choices.
