Dry eye!? Eye problems now...??
Question: Hey all...okay so here's the problem. I just got a pair of contacts because I seriously was tired of squinting all the time just to see things. At times, before I got my contacts, my eyes would flood with tears at random intervals and they would get red...I thought that this may have been from the eye straining that I would always do when I squinted. So, now that I have had my pair of contacts + glasses, I have no experienced that awful flood of tears. Now, my contacts are still kind of getting some time to get used to, since I have been wearing them for just over a week, but today I looked in the mirror, and I have spots like these:

They werent there before I put the contacts in, but afterwards they got there...I'm 17, and I have an appointment this friday to check out my contacts on my eye, so what should I tell them about what's going on? Does it look like I have dry eye? My eyes don't itch.....everything's fine except the spots!
Answers: Tell your eye Dr what you just told us. Dry eye is when your eyes get very dry all the time and feel like sand paper. Drops will help with that. Sounds like you have something else going on. You might want to call the office. Maybe you need to quit wearing them until you see him.
You should call your dr's office and ask if you could be seen sooner. It may not be dry eyes at all, it could also be an allergic reaction to the contact lens material. Continuing to wear the contacts could cause some severe problems. Call your dr's office ASAP.
