What's the matter with my eyes??

Question: It looks like I've been punched in the face - I can't open my right eye at all and when I open the left one to see it goops a snot-like goober all over the place. I know, gross. My eyes are both red and sore - not itchy at all, but when they see the light, it is more painful than a migraine. It hurts to roll them around in my head, it hurts to press on them - it actually burns! I went to the doctor and he said it would clear up in a day or two but I'm still worried because it's my eyes for goodness sake! I can't see, go to work or find the bathroom by myself. Does anyone know what's the matter with me?
Answers: Sounds like pink eye too me, you need to go to the doctor cause that's contagious.
What did your doctor say? I need to examine your eyes to tell you what it is...but by reading your description, it could be pink eyes.

Pink eye may be triggered by a virus, bacteria, an allergic reaction (to dust, pollen, smoke, fumes or chemicals) or, in the case of giant papillary conjunctivitis, a foreign body on the eye, typically a contact lens.

Sounds like what i had a few days ago. Do you wear contact lenses?

I had a corneal ulcer caused by wearing continuos wear contact lenses. You should get your eye double checked. Things happen very quickly in the eye, it heals fast, but the bacteria also breeds quickly.

Go to see an opthalmologist, preferably get referred by your optician to get an urgent appointment.
Sounds like pink eye to me, as this is a very contagious problem, you must be very clean about yourself, like, washing your hands +++, do not touch your eyes, do not share a bath towel, put clean pillow cases on your bed each day, if you happen to touch your eyes wash your hands straight away, you should keep away from work for a few days other wise the likelihood of it being spread to others is high, hopefully the doc gave you some drops to put in your eyes. One old wives tales, which does work, is to put cool tea on a cotton ball and wipe your eyes, this helps the inflammation, you must use a clean cotton ball each time you make one swipe across your eyes.
Hope you feel better soon.

Also, throw away any eye makeup you have used, get fresh stuff, as the germs may still be on your makeup and you will become reinfected
