Can you tell me exactly what "spotting" is??

Question: I mean like with your period and all. My period was late(like a week) and now I'm spotting I guess. I'm bleeding very light(like not at all). What is it?
Answers: Spotting is defined as irregular, usually light bleeding. It can happen between periods or during pregnancy. It can happen whether you're on birth control pills or not.

You could take a pregnancy test (good idea if there's a chance you might be pregnant). If it comes out negative, you could call your gyno and talk to them about it - they may have you come in for pelvic exam to feel for any abnormalities.

It could be nothing - sometimes women miss a period for no reason. THe only person who can let you know what's going on for sure (and rule out any nasty little problems ) is your gyno.

Good luck
spotting is just very little blood.....just spots.....you may want to get a pregnancy test to verify that you are not pregnant.
Spotting can vary from just a tiny smear on your panties or toilet paper to needing to wear a panty liner but not yet a maxi pad. It's probably just hormonal changes. If you still haven't had your period in another week, take a home pregnancy test.
